We have the pleasure to share the announcement of the Summer School for Students and Young People – Asia Edition so that JANAR members may share the details with their students.
TARGET GROUP
IACA and UNODC will deliver two editions of the International Anti-Corruption Summer School for Students and Young People, one for Asia and another for Africa. Each edition will target four countries from the group of Least Developed Countries, as defined by the latest UN classification.
Co-organized by the International Anti-Corruption Academy and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and with the financial support of the Republic of Austria, the first edition of the International Anti-Corruption Summer School for Students and Young People, Asia Edition is open to students and young people who are citizens of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, or Nepal. The participants must belong to the age group 18 to 29 and demonstrate an interest in the anti-corruption and compliance topics.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants must be born after 30 May 1991 – 24 May 2003 (included)
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Previous knowledge and/or interest in the anti-corruption and compliance topics
Participants will be selected based on their educational background, language skills and personal knowledge and interest in the anti-corruption and compliance topics clearly demonstrated in a Motivation Letter.
DURATION: 24 – 30 May 2021
LANGUAGE: English
FEE: Free of charge
DELIVERY FORMAT: Online (Participants who will not be able to attend all live session will be given an opportunity to access video recording for a limited time in order to complete the programme.)

BENEFITS
The 7- day International Anti-Corruption Summer School for Students and Young People will build ethical skills and mindsets in students and young individuals and will raise awareness among them of the values and principles of integrity, ethics, and anti-corruption.
The Summer School will equip the participants with:
- Understanding on what corruption is and what are its harmful impacts on the society
- Knowledge on how to recognize, resist, and prevent corruption
- Exposure to the practical examples and unique insight into the topics from leading global experts
- The opportunity to exchange views and experiences and develop a regional network
